#CHRISPAH  MUNYORO# is one of Zimbabwe’s refined  wordsmith. Her  pen is brave and and the bold pen spit  verses that reflect her mastery of poesy.  A literary mason wielding  a multi-pronged chisel to carve together beautiful language, reason and meaning to bring forth a poetic wonder. Mesmerizing. We are reminded through Munyoro’s  poetic dexterity that every  poet is artist. A word weaver and verse-carver.  A poet  is a  gifted word sculptor shaping  our lives into  generational stories. Over and above edutaining  , Munyoro carries  doses of resistance, rebelliousness and protest in her DNA.  She speaks resistance to rot and corrupt to the core dictatorial powers home and abroad . The imagery abound is depiction of sorry  tales and naked truth that usually go untold. CHRISPAH MUNYORO# is the Second Prize Winner of the inaugural #Freedom Poetry Prize curated by the #Brave Voices Press. # Finals  were excellently  adjudicated by one Poetry Chef / Freedom Voices Poetry Prize Head Judge, #Dr. Michael Dickel from Jerusalem, Israel. #MUNYORO is a regular of the #Zimbabwe We Want Poetry Campaign Projects.  Most of  the photos here are Courtesy of Google Photos and Chrispah Munyoro Photo Album. D-day creeping stealthily

Inaugural, staged pageant of the world

All races to contest #down with racism

No age limit #stop child abuse

All countries to oblige #no more superior inferiority complex

All gender to face it #away with domestic violence

Every human register #royalty and paupers share stage

Corona Covid -19 you have humbled the world

As each human is hiding behind the mask

Guessing game on identity unfolding

Karma! who gave you address of this world?

How did you know that humans repels one another?

Greedy, jealousy, malicious and stony hearted we became

Now it’s order as people parade themselves

Mute and silent while we watch

Halloween pageant.

Q.What are the challenges as a poet and a writer in Zimbabwe with the given political and economic situations?

#Challenges faced in Zimbabwe as a writer and poet are financial straits in order to boost arts to greater heights. Lack of materials to use. Freedom of expression is a hurdle. Few publishers and promoters to nurture arts. #My plea to National Arts Council of Zimbabwe is to intervene and support artists from tender ages by engaging workshops for them to grow up knowing the pros and cons of this industry.

               Q. Where have been your writings published local and abroad?

#My writings had been published in various newspapers specifically The Times/New Ziana Gweru -salute they introduced me to the world, kudos to you forever grateful. The Daily news Gweru, The Tribune Gweru, The Citizen Gweru, The Midlands Observer Kwekwe, Jekeso Kwekwe and Motto magazine Gweru. That’s locally still yet to be published abroad.

Q.What are doing to motivate your community during these times COVID 19?

# I am motivating people by my poetry about this pandemic  COVID 19 virus hoping and praying the message to take preventative measures are adhered to and reaches all. To consul those who had lost their beloved ones.

Q.Which lessons do you draw from authors like Dangarembwa , Vera , Chimamanda and Maya?

#Lessons i can draw from authors like Dangarembwa, Vera, Chinananda, and Maya are that arts is a fair game as long as you are hard working for it accommodates all. It’s not biased and the sky is the limit ,gender equality generates awesome comradeship in this journey of arts. In order to paint and color the canvas of humanity through arts.

Q. What are your future plans , Are you planning to publish more?

Q .Give your honest thoughts on the current Arts and Poetry situation in Zimbabwe?

# My thoughts on the current Arts and Poetry in Zimbabwe are that it’s silently and slowly vanishing by going under the drain. The willpower is there but circumstances beyond control are hindering Arts and Poetry. Very few are making breakthroughs because of financial restraints. Organisations for making artists meet ,engage and connect are getting fewer. Workshops to boost the morale and sharpen talents are now becoming extinct. Some of the greatest works of arts are the holy bible and Qur’an just to mention a few. For them to be written it’s the work of arts. Arts lives for centuries and it’s another way of communication between the creator and humanity.

# CHRISPAH MUNYORO # a humble, down to earth and versatile woman who fell in love with reading books from primary level and engaged to writing and poetry in my teenage years. I become married to creative writing and wedded at eighteen years of age by becoming a correspondent to different newspapers. A journalist/columnist at The Times/New Ziana Gweru. I attended various workshops all over the country to boost and build my profession. I became the chairperson of Freelance Journalists. Boxing and linguistics are also my passion and was a Zimbabwe representative of boxing at the zone IV under 20 regional youth games. I am registered under AIBA the international body of boxing.
