NTEBEZA is a Ugandan word meaning Tell me a story.NTEBEZA has been adapted by creative crazes into a reverberating African Poetry Night taming the concrete jungle of Kampala into a Kingdom of literary hymns and a Canaan of metaphors. Carolyne Afroetry MA’s poetry beats resonate with honky honking drums of urban pop and wind pressing tenor of car horns. The Afroetry Duchess recently graced the Ladyhood event to pay tribute to the resilient revolutionary voices of Womanhood. Mbale is where the sun bathes the earth, hills and pastures in Uganda. Likewise ACEN’s poetry washes off devil hood and falsehood from this our Earthly Kingdom. In Mbale, the Afroetry Duchess Carolyne M.Acen serenaded academic green horns, fellow bards and rabbis with her waterfall gushing poetic prowess. When literary Royalty duties call, they call in droves, they will be no time to exhale or inhale the gift of oxygen. At most times the Duchess is a busy bee , writing lines , rehearsing punch verses and speaking to her world through city stereos and metro- televisions .On the 8th of March( woman month) Sanyu F.M and Sheraton Hotel hosted the poetic Duchess Carolyne M.ACEN and as usual the She-Hero griot sang from her poetry hymn book with that excelling air of creative diligence . Her poetry danced alongside jiving sunrays during Kisumu 2018 East Africa Poetic Hour Battle. Ahoy! .Carolyne M.Acen is peoples poet, she is a significant contributor to Ugandan and African literary cultural scene. ACEN is a fully packed African literary caldera already exploding volcanoes of liberation. She writes SHE and speaks SHE.
*WOMANHOOD * SISTERHOOD * MOTHERHOOD* her passion. She is a firm believer of the creative GODESS, the WOMAN. CAROLYNE M.ACEN is the WOMAWORD LITERARY PRESS CELEBRITY of the inaugural April edition 2019. Contact WOMAWORD PRESS editor and Curator MBIZO CHIRASHA

DEAR MINISTER (Protest poem:)

How many Ugandan women do you
intend to crucify in the name of
promoting tourism?
How many dummy ambassadorial roles
do you intend to build on the
new auction block?
Will you raise the stage and label
curvy women with a branding iron?
Will you strip their conscience and
allow the rest of the world to
throw dice on their clothes?
How many graves do you intend
to dig to feed your new found
Run incisions through the tourism
sector with scalpels and offer
our dignity as a sacrificial lamb on
the altar of your ego.
How much is enough booty for
your crippled masculinity?
Does your parched mind thirst
for stereotypes?
Degrade the essence of our
femininity with the callousness
of your chops.
Mutilate the pearl of Africa
for a bit of exposure.
What happened to the undulating
landscapes that our ancestors
often took to safari?
The flora and fauna that paints
our national parks.
Are Curvy Ugandan women part
of the fauna you are desperately
trying to sell?
So, tell me Mr. Kiwanda.
How many headless women do
you intend to truss like chicken
before roasting?
Will this barter hit the target of the
Tourism industry or embalm the statistics?
Will it?
Will the fruits of this objectification
of Ugandan women fill your
sizeable belly as the sun grins.
Draw a smile on your face as conflict
drips off your skin.
Sate your untiring need for relevance.
Make the fruit of your loins
dance the “bakisimba”
I hope it makes you feel much more
than what you display when the
cameras turn and spectators are hit
with the sham you are trying to
re-package for your egotistical needs.
I hope that our ancestors shake the
foundation your heavy feet solemnly
We are not objects to be fetishized!
Uganda curvy Women are not a
Tourist attraction
